Everyone loves a good list, right? I was asked recently to list three things that I’m most excited about, regarding the FresYes downtown expansion. While I could wax philosophical about FresYes walking the walk, and not just talking the talk; instead, I’ll give you three small, personal things that excite me when it comes to downtown.
First, I’d like to talk about how thrilled I am for the office I received downtown. My office within Palm Anees is a bit isolated from my people, agents, and staff. It’s just the way it’s situated. There’s no natural light, either. While it serves its purpose, at the end of the day, my office downtown wins. Although it’s positioned in the corner, it’s still in the central area closest to my team. Natural light is a bonus, too. It sits at freeway level, up high, and it’s got this constant feeling of motion, which is incredible.
The second thrill I experienced is related to a dream of mine, where I create a Facebook or Google-like space, which I know may sound cliché, but hear me out. We currently have something similar at Palm Anees, but this will allow for more room to do collaborative type functions, and give way to bigger and better things.
I guess we’re real estate agents at our core, and we have an office full of them. We don’t collaborate a lot, but I think if there’s a space where it’s possible to connect better, we’ll do it. “If you build it, ‘they’ will come.” We’ll be able to share ideas on how to serve customers better. We could swap thoughts on ways to market ourselves, our properties, and our brands better. How we can be more connected in the community is another question that can be answered. Never in the history of real estate, that I’m aware of, has a broker-owner devoted space for this to happen, and I’m excited to see what comes from it.
The third, and one of the biggest reasons, I’m excited about this project is a bit of a secret. It allows us to formally launch a media company that we’ve had for some time, called Cx4. Fresyes.com, and FresYes Realty, I often think of more as a media company that happens to employ outstanding real estate agents. I shouldn’t say employ. We’re all independent contractors. We’re a media company that sells real estate, versus a real estate agency that hires a media company.
I’m passionate about the ability to create other facets of our business that serve our agents, clients, and community better. This space allows us to do that. And as an added feature, there will be a video studio, making it even more outstanding. I mean, how cool will it be to have a podcast studio in our office? Isn’t that a project to be thrilled about? I sure think so, and I cannot wait to get started.
